BIG CREAM are an Italian post-punk band founded in 2014 as a result of the
boredom of three guys coming from Bologna, Italy, who decided to start a
group after having consumed Michael Azerrad's book Our Band Could Be Your
Life in order to replicate their overseas idols. Their current lineup features
Roberto and Riccardo on guitar, Matteo on vocals and bass, and, in addition,
Biagio on sax and Emil on drums, who both joined the band in 2023.
In 2016 and 2018, they respectively released Creamy Tales – their debut EP – and
Rust – their first full-length – which led them to play on various Italian stages,
including the one of Handmade Festival, a cult event for the Italian
independent scene.
In the spring of 2022, they published for More Letters Records and WWNBB
their second album Hanging, which is heavily influenced by the abrasiveness of
no wave and the hypnotic rhythms of post-punk. The record's promotional tour
brought the band to several prominent national and international stages,
including Lars Rock Fest in Siena, Italy – opening for German historic krautrock
band Faust – Pro Weekend Festival in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, and also the
famous SXSW in Austin, Texas.
On November 24, 2023, the two singles Quiet Quitting / Doppelgänger will be
simultaneously released via WWNBB, the first one also accompanied by an
official music video made in computer graphics by Andrea Zanini, aka
Zannunzio.
