ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Aura Gaze mixes his interest in eastern philosophies and studies in sound engineering to create hypnotic drones and melodies through electric and acoustic instruments. "Eternal Hymns" was a self-released demo, out April '19 on cassette/digital, and goes deeper into the idea of meditative sounds using synth, guitars, vocals, percussion, keyboard & effects. These tracks were composed based on influences including Laraaji, Randall Dunn, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, & Ariel Kalma (who also provided the covert art). "Lightworker” by Aura Gaze evokes the tranquil spirit of a vast, hidden forest discovered at the roof of the world" - Queen City Sounds & Art. '20 brought EP "Flatland Mystic" on Andrew Weathers Full Spectrum label as part of their "Llano Discs" series, focusing on experimental sound artists from West Texas area. Sophomore album "Orb Temple", released on Somewherecold Records in May '20, is 2 longform ambient dronescapes with each track focusing on a different lead instrument (track 1 being Laraaji inspired opened tuned zither, track 2 being modular eurorack synthesizer)."Sky Mind" on AURAL CANYON was recorded during the pandemic, featuring Ariel Kalma on alto flute for track "Cloud Temple". "Great Moon Essence" is his 4th full length album, releasing Sept 16th on Somewherecold Records. '23 sees the 2nd Aural Canyon release, The State Of Pure Being, out in April.
