Telefís

Telefís is a collaboration between Cathal Coughlan (Microdisney, Fatima Mansions) and Jacknife Lee (Ex-Compulsion and Producer for U2, R.E.M, Two Door Cinema Club et al). In March 2022, the pair released their debut album, ‘a hAon’ (number one), a collection of songs that expresses a “corrosive nostalgia”. ‘We Need’ was the first song to be shared from this record, a jubilant, if occasionally distressed, “Theocratic Electropop track”. Commanding, distinct vocals sit powerfully across the glitchy soundscape of lush electronica, funky basslines and powerful lyricism, a sound that is both an intriguing and essential listen. Their second album ‘a Dó’ (number two) will be released on October 7, 2022 and will stand as a testament to the unique songwriting and vocal talents of the late, great Cathal Coughlan. RIP.
