It's fitting that Stones Throw Alum would tap Star Creature for this next phase of his already impressive musical journey. Coming off several incredible albums ranging from hip hop to jazz-funk and all sorts of in between fusions for arguably one of the most influential "underground" labels of last couple decades, Stimulator Jones gives us a taste of what's hopefully to be a series of these Stimulator Tracks on Chicago's Star Creature. Part Fingers Inc, part Ten City, Part Armando; all something you may find in the Local section of Windy City fixture Gramaphone Records. A bit of acid, deep, atmospheric and soulful that fits somewhere between raw DJ tools and well produced EP material, sure to sound slamming near any front left speakers. An exciting direction for both SJ and SC and a partnership we are anticipating watching develop further!
