Steven Weston returns to home turf with his brand new EP Melt Air, which is released via Blank Dust on the 7th October.
Just over a year has passed since Grammy nominated artist, producer and engineer Steven Weston released his debut EP Blank Dust. Since then he has received support from John Digweed, Jody Wisternoff, Qrion, Lane 8, Yotto, Hernan Cattaneo and Camel Phat, as well as capturing the attention of Sasha, who signed Steven's track Liquid for his record label, Last Night On Earth. Alter The Flow EP is out now on Anjunadeep featuring the single ‘Like I Used To' with Låpsley , Lighter Than Love' with RHODES and 'One More Time with Taė.
Steven was brought up in Portsmouth and learned to play the organ from the age of 11, but an early obsession with electronic music soon saw him trading it in for a set of turntables and a CDJ. At 18, he left for Spain, where he became a resident DJ on the Murcia Coast. He has been on the move ever since, touring the world playing keyboards and on Music Director duties for the likes of Sad Night Dynamite, Ladyhawke, Charli XCX and Mikky Ekko. He was also the first and lead bass player in The KLF side project Badger Kull. He cut his teeth as an engineer at Metropolis and Strongroom, and worked for three years at Major Toms in Hoxton, where he was studio engineer for Rudimental, working on the guys 3rd studio album. The last few years have seen Steven collaborating with James Lavelle's UNKLE.
