Cologne trio SPARKLING share synth juggernaut ‘Not The Right Place’ (out January 18th), and announce the arrival of their ‘This Is My Life / Das Ist Mein Leben / C´est Ma Vie’ EP, set for release March 11th via Moshi Moshi Records (Anna Meredith, Du Blonde, Girl Ray).

Hailing from a city that birthed the likes of Krautrock, and with LCD Soundsystem’s Al Doyle and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard on production duties, SPARKLING’s scintillating progression shows no boundaries, having already attracted praise from the likes of Brooklyn Vegan, Clash and Dork, as well as huge support across the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders) and BBC 6 Music (Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq) airwaves.

With the band’s upcoming EP marking an adrenaline rush of a journey that traverses Europe, drawing on French electronic music, the urgency and ferocity of English post-punk and the throbbing pulse of krautrock, SPARKLING’s presence across the indie landscape is sure to grow throughout the next twelve months, with extensive live plans ready to be unveiled.

Detailing their newest effort, an introspective cut focusing on unresolved conflict and starting afresh, the group explained: “We wanted it to be really punchy and energetic and bring in this dancefloor vibe you can get completely lost in. So it became a kind of rock and dance hybrid.”

SPARKLING’s ‘Not The Right Place’ is out January 18th via Moshi Moshi Records and will be available across all digital platforms.
