“How often do you hear something that sounds truly unique?” - Pigeons & Planes This is experimental, emotive music designed for solo late night listening. London based producer and musician Social State’s truly progressive approach explores previously uncharted boundaries that nod towards teenage years spent obsessed with jungle tapes, imported metal CDs and electronica, with elements of broken beat and dark distorted textures underscored by a melancholic playfulness. In 2015, he released 'Human Error/She Was Loved' on Mr. Mitch’s Gobstopper Records; Mr. Mitch, founder of club night Boxed and also a curator and auteur at the forefront of UK electronic music, remains a huge supporter of Social State’s productions. Their haunting collaboration ‘Sleep’ features on Mr. Mitch’s new album ‘Lazy’. Now head of own label, Ordinary Love, Social State is completely self-sufficient. It’s about making music for the love and the possibilities. It’s perhaps because of this approach that Social State has been featured in Wire and Pigeons & Planes and received radio support from Jamz Supernova (BBC 6Music), Nemone (BBC 6Music), Moxie (BBC Radio 1), Mr. Mitch (Rinse FM), NAINA (Reprezent) and Zuli (NTS).
