Saccades is the solo project of Nicholas Wood, one half of the acclaimed electronic duo The KVB.
In 2017, Wood introduced Saccades with a self-titled debut album, departing from the dark, atmospheric soundscapes of The KVB to embrace stripped-back, psychedelic guitar-driven melodies and bedroom pop sensibilities.
The project's follow-up, Flowing Fades, was released in April 2021, accompanied by a UK tour. With this album, Wood expanded his sonic palette, incorporating influences of Yacht Rock along with the sounds of New Wave inspired vintage synthesizers, while maintaining the relaxed and carefree style of the project.
In 2023, Saccades returned with Land of the Hearth, a more electronic and Balearic-leaning record that retained the blissed-out, hypnotic qualities that Saccades has become known for. The album weaves together soothing, sun-soaked vibes with subtle undercurrents of tension, capturing the evocative spirit of the project.
In March 2025, Saccades unveiled a new single, "Sightseer," which explores a more lo-fi pop sound with heavy hauntological influences. The track blends a woozy, nostalgic production with an eerie sense of melancholy, while still preserving the ethereal, introspective vibe at the core of Saccades’ identity.
