Scattered Ashes are an abrasive Dublin four-piece ranging in influence from Goth to Punk. The band matches aggressive sonic textures with a strict sense of space, created by urgent guitar stylings and prophetic vocals. You can hear their influences, but the product is entirely their own. Taking cues from the likes of Editors, Interpol & Joy Division the band sit in a darker lane than most of their contemporaries. The band burst on to the scene November 2020 with their debut single ‘Love Is Not An Option’ receiving immediate support and airplay from Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6) and KEXP over in the states. The ‘Parallel Lines EP’ followed on blood red vinyl, selling out in its first week in Rough Trade stores throughout the UK. 2021 ended with sell out Dublin and London shows, alongside supports with Sprints and THUMPER. 2022 opened up with them listed as one of the Hot Press Hot for 2022 and the upgrading of their biggest Dublin headline show yet.
New single 'Battles' is a sombre meditation on despair and fragility in a finite world, as well as man’s capacity for change. “A story of sorrow, a story of shame, broken and hollow, can’t remember my name…” ‘Battles’ casts a rather acute spotlight on the shame associated with addiction and the long road to recovery. The single was recorded with FONTAINES D.C Producer Daniel Doherty and comes off the back of a headline UK/IRE Tour, as well as providing support for US Goth Legends She Wants Revenge on their European Tour.
