Pulselovers is the genre hopping project of Mat Handley. Along with fellow conspirators, Pulselovers can be heard skipping between tape loop experimentalism, melodic hauntology, ambient soundscapes, mototik minimalism and psychedelic folk.
When playing live, there can be between one to four people on stage with instrumentation ranging from lone laptop to multiple synths, full band or just a few contact mics fed through guitar pedals. Notable gigs have been played in Hull (Humber Street Sesh), Lincoln (Weird Garden), Derby (St Werburgh’s Church) and hometown, Doncaster (New Weird Garden, Flying Scotsman Tap).
Pulselovers music can be heard on several digital and physical various artist releases on labels such as A Year In The Country, unMute, Bedroom Cassette Masters, The Active Listener and DEF Synth as well as the self released, self titled first album from 2016.
In 2019, the second album ‘Cotswold Stone’ was released on vinyl by electronic label Castles in Space.
