rita lukea - who also goes by sally everclear, or froggy - met her band mates and producers jonathon freund (AKA Club Drippy) and tyler ommen in high school. a bond formed when they met in art club, where the school queers covertly hung out together. rita lukea has a reputation in chicago for putting on bizarre and angry performances, often using substances to cope with anxiety, eating disorders, and gender dysphoria. working with her best friend jonathon freund, a music major with perfect pitch and a penchant for beautiful sounds, and tyler ommen, a sentient drum machine and beat maker, the three have crafted iconic club-pop songs and sold out chicago venues.

ARENA, pixel grip’s second album, will be out in 2021.
