PCM is an ambient trio comprised of musicians Francesco Perra (P), Matteo Cantaluppi (C), Matteo Milea (M). These three personalities within the project link different musical sub-facets of ambient music as a collective influence.
Matteo Cantaluppi, probably most known for his independent pop production duties, has released, as a musician, a symphonic-ambient album with Baffo Banfi ("Biglietto per l'Inferno" founding member and Klaus Schulze's collaborator) called "Frontera" and many ambient albums with several labels.
Francesco Perra is an ambient musician who often utilizes guitar and tape loops for his rich soundscapes. He released albums, singles and EP with several labels under the name of Perry Frank.
Matteo Milea is a sound engineer and sound designer who is also responsible for the trio's art direction, giving visual representation to PCM's liquid sounds.
The trio's influences range from the clear ambient sounds of artists like Brian Eno, Fennesz, and Basinski, to the darker and rawer moments of Tangerine Dream, Popul Vuh, and even Pink Floyd. The trio also has an affinity for the imagery of Andrej Tarkovskij, Lucio Fontana, and Anselm Kiefer.
PCM released two albums Attraverso (2019) and Macro (2021) with the label n5MD.
