Ola Szmidt

Artist has been mentored by Four Tet via Steve Reid Foundation since 2016. She was discovered and signed à deal in 2022 with Matthew Herbert's Accidental Records for her next EP3 release. 
 She is currently working on début LP with support from Arts Council England funding. Furthermore she studies Bsc in Acupuncture. 
 Over the last four years, Ola developed unique minimal compositional practice with just one looping device. 
 She undertook Masters degree in Improvised Music at the University of York in 2018-2021. Where she challenged herself creatively and placed her vocal as main instrument in all the compositions. That supported shaping intricate approach to musical expression. 
 Artist is also classically trained flautist and specialises in various fields of sound therapy. 
 In addition, Ola holds BA degree studies in music technology and electro-acoustic music from De Montfort University (2009-2012). She studied under guidance of Dr John Richards, Dr Brett Battey and Dr Peter Batchelor. This is where her love to sound energy healing begun and she never stopped deepening her knowledge. She is one of the guest lecturers at DMU since 2022.
