city: ParisFrench auteur Oklou will release her debut album ‘choke enough’ next year.
An inspiring multi-hyphenate, Oklou has built a community of life-minds around her. Both a solitary talent and a communal inspiration, her work strikes out in its own lane.
Much-anticipated debut album ‘choke enough’ lands on February 7th via True Panther, constructed alongside key collaborators such as Casey MQ, Danny L Harle and A. G. Cook, while it also features Bladee and underscores.
Oklou comments…
’choke enough’ is a very intense album for me. It’s filled with directions, tentatives and irregularities, reflecting on my last years on this planet as my heart and conscience has really decentered from myself.
Set to play London’s Heaven venue on March 7th, Oklou has detailed the full tracklisting for her new album, and shared the title track, too.
Out now, ‘choke enough’ is an intense blast of electronics, peppered with riveting colour and emotion.
She adds: “This title track is important enough to have been chosen as the title track. Not sure whether it’s because it’s one of the oldest sounds of the record, or simply my favorite? Maybe it’s because it holds an important question that I’m trying to display within the entire album; what situations are we ready to put ourselves into in order to provoke sensations and drama, in order to feel alive.”
