ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Raff got his first set of decks way back in 1996 at the age of 14 and soon got the bug for Music Production.

Setting himself up with an Akai sampler and an Atari 1040, he set about learning the fundamentals of music production.

Raff continued to learn the production of drum and bass until he was asked by his long-time friend Kev (9er) to join him in starting a new crew dedicated to making grime music under the name 'Macabre Unit'. That was the beginning of R.Demon which later on was shortened to Demon and led to his involvement with Dubstep and his own imprint M.U.D.

In 2014 Raff started a new alias which he later adopted for all his music production work, Nurve and he started to make a lot of 125-130 techy bass music which was released on Tectonic Recordings. In recent times his work with long-time friend Nomine (Outrage) has been very well publicised and documented via their work on many projects together but most notably with the Education & Bass online music production school.

Nurve is now focusing solely on his first love, Drum & Bass. His recent release on Backlash Records made some serious waves and with a Function records release also slated for the end of 2021 and self releases in between, he has hit the ground running!
