Following the recent release of their latest single, “Old Magick,” the Chicago alternative rock /
punk band Nora Marks plan to surprise drop another new track. “Museum Of Nothing” will be
available on all major streaming platforms on September 20, 2023.
“This newest song came together quickly after a spontaneous post-practice jam session,”
explains vocalist and guitarist Michael Garrity. “We had the majority of it ready to go within a
week and decided we wanted to maintain the momentum we’d built up after recording our last
single. At the moment, we’re just experimenting with what is fun to play and expanding the limits
of our comfort zone to shape or infuse our various influences into a cohesive sound that is all
our own.”
With “Museum Of Nothing,” Nora Marks is swinging bigger and broader. The riff-heavy chorus
evokes big stage alternative rock bands like Queens of the Stone Age, while the driving rhythm
section and impassioned, powerful vocals highlight the influence of legendary punk and
post-hardcore bands like Fugazi.
Following the release of “Museum Of Nothing,” the band will be supporting Sad Park at the Beat
Kitchen in Chicago on Thursday, October 19.
Of previous single “Old Magick,” Demi Marshall of inAlternative said: “While the song begins
with a punk style similar to their previous releases, overall there is a new, vast feeling to it. Nora
Marks maintains their punk foundation while adding new, refreshing sounds.”
