“A nod to classic rock n’ roll” So Young Magazine

NYC alt-rockers Native Sun share blistering new single ‘Too Late’ (video here), out today (March 26th) via cult NYC label Grand Jury (Hovvdy, Samia, Twin Peaks, Jordana), marking their very first release in what promises to be a thrilling year for the band.
Fresh from an acclaimed run of shows at SXSW and coinciding with their co-headline tour alongside THUS LOVE, Native Sun’s intoxicating live set has already attracted plenty of fanfare. Tackling themes of grief, disillusionment with our time, and lovingly documenting the lives of the outcasts and misfits in their music, the quartet, lead by Columbian-American songwriter Danny Gomez, have become mainstays on the New York music scene and ticked off supports with acts including Bodega, FIDLAR, Gustaf and Sunflower Bean.
Detailing their frenetic new effort, frontman Gomez explained: “”It’s too late and I don’t care!” A rallying cry for the downtrodden who choose to persevere in spite of an uncertain future. Dedicated to the streets of the city, its narrators and their untold stories. Optimism is resistance.”
Partnering with esteemed indie label Grand Jury, Native Sun are primed to build on plaudits throughout the UK and US press landscape (Brooklyn Vegan, DIY, FLOOD Magazine, NYLON, Paste, So Young Magazine, Rolling Stone), whilst on the live front, the four-piece are lining themselves up for a busy summer with several festival shows alongside the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers, Geese, Indigo de Souza and Nation of Language.
Revered producer Walter Schreifels (Rival Schools, Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand) added: “Since working with Native Sun on their debut EP ‘Off With Their Heads’, this is the fiery rock and roll anthem I was hoping for and needed. With all the energy, swagger and panache, ‘Too Late’ charges ahead with bigger ambition, catchier choruses and musical twists that’ll grab you by the collar and toss you in the pit like a damn doll.”
Produced by Walter Schreifels and mixed by Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Bodega, The Drums, Snail Mail), Native Sun’s ‘Too Late’ is out now via Grand Jury and available on all digital platforms.
