"His experimental, punky take on electronic music feels like an impressive blend of Kraftwerk, Gary Numan and Throbbing Gristle; a truly exciting sound"
Michael Georgian is a twenty-something South East London-based producer who, after playing in various bands throughout his early years, has struckout on his own. Employing an array of analogue synthesisers and dulcet vocal tones to a danceable rhythmic effect, the resulting sound and live show is a mix of heavy drum machines, live visuals and a devious on-stage persona and intensity that has been compared to a televangelist preacher.
‘Televised’ is Michael Georgian’s enigmatic debut single, that’ll tickle the senses of avant-garde electronica and modern post-punk enthusiasts alike. Fad Gadget, Throbbing Gristle and Factory Records signings from New Order to the Durutti Column feel like appropriate comparisons from the past, whilst Georgian’s modern and aggressive production style aligns more with the likes of cutting edge electro-punks PVA. Forefronting a labyrinth of carefully chosen synth sounds, Georgian’s ominous vocals haunt the mix like a baritone ghost of Gary Numan, whilst hardened industrial beats clatter through the track, reminiscent of Kraftwerk’s Trans-Europe Express.
