It’s a simp(le) anthem that celebrates the exhilarating dynamics of love and passion, inviting listeners to embrace the beauty of surrender.
Bio:
The three band members all hail from the USA but have been living in Berlin for several years now, having formed the band only in 2021. Their sound blends gentle indie rock and Americana, reminiscent of artists such as Big Thief, Sharon Van Etten, and Cate Le Bon - the band themselves refer to it as "Faux-Country."
In November 2023, they released their acclaimed debut album, "Gut Punch". Since then they released the singles "Malcolm" & "Never Thought". The band received press coverage from outlets such as Gorilla Vs Bear, Stereogum, BrooklynVegan and more. Despite being a brand-new band, they have already played several international shows: At the end of 2023, they kicked things off with a major support tour for Alt-J in the USA. In February 2024, they embarked on a European release tour. In March 2024, they returned to the USA for SXSW, where they played seven shows. In May 2024, they went on a European tour supporting Chastity Belt.
Over the summer, they played at various festivals like Immergut, c/o Pop, and Alinae Lumr. Finally, they wrapped things up with three support shows for Nation of Language in Germany as well as gigs at Reeperbahn Festival, Pop Montreal and Pitchfork London.
'Frankie' is a playful and up-tempo song that blends shoegaze-inspired soundscapes with the pulse of new wave. The song delves into the nuances of sometimes being a submissive partner while not shying away from desire, trust, and vulnerability. It’s a simp(le) anthem that celebrates the dynamics of love and passion, inviting listeners to embrace the beauty of surrender.
