The Manchester quartet’s debut album fuses dance rhythms, corroded guitars, and seething vocals into a transfixing blend of violence and transcendence.
Francophone Manchester-based quartet sound crisp and fuzzy in equal measures on debut LP, finds Will Salmon
Mandy, Indiana’s i’ve seen a way is an impressive debut, demonstrating the singular vision of a band preoccupied with crafting their own unique world. Whether they’re creating disorientating, dystopian nightmares or floor-filling dance cuts, Mandy, Indiana maintain extreme precision as they take the listener on an apocalyptic journey that feels as relevant as ever.
Life is as fragile as ever, and Mandy, Indiana employ an array of beats, accents, tempos, and textures to demonstrate that yes, the end of the world is still coming. And yet, until that final moment arrives, we’re compelled by our genetic history and psychic DNA to celebrate the human spirit, the urge for communion, transcendence… While i’ve seen a way naturally suggests an atheistic vision, it also ironically reaches for something eternal that exists beyond the horrific tortuosities of sociopolitical evolution. Life, God, Spirit, The Way… Mandy, Indiana never lose sight of their aesthetic and existential north star, despite how convincingly they navigate despair.
You might not always know what they are saying but the wails in “Iron Maiden” and foreboding synths of “(Crystal Aura Redux)” don’t need translating. The bleak production and relentless beats should keep us dancing all the way through the apocalypse

What ‘I’ve Seen A Way’ does really well is keep you on your toes. You aren’t sure what is coming next. It’s surprising, but oddly delightful. A downside to the album is due to its levels of ferocity you can’t listen to it a lot. Especially back-to-back. However, when you do play it, the memory is hard to shake. Good things do come to those who wait, even if they aren’t expecting them.
