Belfast trio, Makeshift Art Bar impolitely invite us to attend their party of Noise-Rock and sheer insanity.
After causing havoc on last year’s ‘Inertia’, Makeshfit Art-Bar are back for seconds on new single ‘Birthday Party’. Taking influence from 80s post-punk, the track is driven along by Joseph Sweeney’s pulsating rhythm guitar and cathartic lead vocals, while the rest of the band unleash chaos with an instrumental so sick and evil that it’s massively enjoyable. ‘Birthday Party’ arrives as the band return fresh from supporting Chalk in Belfast and a headline at Paris’s Supersonic, and will mark the beginning of many more releases to come.
On the track, the band say “The instrumentation on Birthday Party makes it our most light-hearted song, although it’s contrasted lyrically, about being lost in a false sense of euphoria. At shows, it was the song everyone was the most captivated by so we thought it deserved a full release. It’s actually the first song we ever played together as a band.”
