"One of the strangest and most interesting bands in the current Bristol scene" - Clunk Magazine
Bristolian art rockers MP3 Chainsaw have returned with their third single of the year in ‘On Repeat’, an outstanding showcase of their madcap mixture of synth-pop, post-hardcore and dance-punk.

The five-piece have earned support from a variety of publications and tastemakers, with Crack Magazine, Amazing Radio, and Clunk being amongst fans of their early singles, and Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber professed his appreciation by adding debut track ‘Clydecore’ to his Right Now. playlist earlier this year.

While the self-styled band of 'vigilantes fighting their crusade against bland music and fuckboys at clubs’ are still relatively fresh as a unit, the band have all been part of their hometown's vibrant scene for many years, with members having formed parts of Jesuits, Empty Pools, Illegal Data and Soz Lad in both the past and present.

'On Repeat' sees MP3 Chainsaw flirt with a heady amalgam of different styles, managing to sound like Depeche Mode, The Dismemberment Plan and Au Pairs all within its 5-minute runtime. The track also sees core members Arty Pops and Auntie Climax trade lead vocal duties in the wildly contrasting chorus and verse segments, and this variation of voices is something that also has earned them praise for their live performances.

Speaking about the track and its themes, Arty Pops explains that "'On Repeat' represents the polarised dynamic between those in a powerful position in industry and the underling workforce. It considers the symbiotic ecosystem surrounding pop music and pop culture; often dangerous, predatory or exploitative…like all bizniz."

Like their previous two singles, MP3 Chainsaw worked alongside a trio of creatives who seem to share a firm grasp on how to deliver the group's unrelenting creative vision, with Alfie Tyson-Brown on recording and mixing, Dylan Mallett on mastering and Harry Wright on artwork.
The band have shared stages with acts as diverse as LICE, Gazelle Twin and BUFFEE, and have performed at various festivals such as Simple Things, Outer Town and as part of a Record Store Day showcase at Rough Trade Bristol.

The definitely real names and roles of MP3 Chainsaw are: Auntie Climax (vocals, sampler), Arty Pops (vocals, guitar, keys), cutmesum.flac (keys, electronics, vocals), BigCapyDamaNRG (bass, vocals) and Johnny Email (drums, beats).
