LIFE have shared a re-interpreted and wonky-mulled-wine version of Jingle Bells with a LIFE-shaped lyrical take on the Christmas classic.
The track channels everything from The Stooges to The Fall with one-note piano performances, drunken guitar solos and gonzo vocal screams.
Singer Mez says of the session:
“When Christmas was lost to Covid/Lockdown we put on a livestream from our Moon Factory studio in Hull. It made us smile, it made people laugh at home and most importantly it made my little boy dance around my flat in Hull!
This year, following an incredible tour of our latest album, we wanted to celebrate at the LIFE AGM and got in the festive spirit to record the 'LIFEMAS' version of Jingle Bells.
Yes, we wore tinsel, yes, we wore Xmas shaped sunglasses and yes, we just had a ton-of-fun.
Is it serious, hell-no but hopefully the track just makes people laugh and dance with their kids, pets, nan’s and gate-crashing X-mas neighbours - reach for your Satsuma and enjoy!”
The band released their third studio album, North East Coastal Town, in August 2022 and have been touring heavily this year. They’ll be getting out on the road again in the new year with a slot at Rockaway Beach before an Independent Venue Week run visiting northern coastal towns, including their own hometown of Hull and the legendary Adelphi.
