Hailing from Southend, Essex, but currently based in South-West London, 21-year old Leo Walrus has been writing songs since the age of 13. Absorbing music far and wide - from King Krule to the Clash to Arthur Lee - he has cultivated a distinctive flair for indie, dream-folk and neo-soul, penning songs of honesty, kindness and stirring introspections.

Following on from the halcyon innocence of previous releases, new cut ‘Angel Angel’ offers a testament to a rapidly maturing songwriter.   Distinguished by Walrus’ charismatic vocal - gravelly and timeless like that of a classic 70s chanteur- and swaying with the soulful inflections à la Steve Lacy - ‘Angel Angel’ crackles with cosiness, comforting the ears like a steaming bubble-bath or Sunday morning lie-in.

Following regular London performances at iconic venues such as The Troubadour, The Cavendish Arms and Paper Dress Vintage, Leo’s latest single comes off the back of support from several indie grassroots champions such as Hard of Hearing, Wax, The Most Radicalist, and Vocal Girls Weekly, BBC Radio London and  Amazing Radio.

Of his latest single, Leo explains: "I wanted “Angel Angel” to weave between mystery and delicacy, worry and refuge. Written with Marvin Gaye in mind, I imagined this song to declare the maturity I so desire, with the rich attention to detail in the sound reflecting that.”
