LEATHERS

Leathers is the electro-pop project of Canadian musician and visual artist, Shannon Hemmett (also the keyboardist of acclaimed Vancouver post punk band ACTORS). 


After teasing audiences with a handful of stylish singles, Hemmett signed a worldwide album deal with Toronto-based Artoffact Records in 2020. Her Reckless EP compiling these singles, amassed a loyal cult following, and went on to become the top-selling EP of the label’s 20+ year history. Ablaze with neon synths, and nocturnal atmospheres, Hemmett’s sublime voice floats to the forefront—searching for the truth between fantasy and reality. 


This summer, LEATHERS’ long awaited live debut captivated audiences in New York, Chicago, Portland, Seattle, and Los Angeles, solidifying her appeal. 


In January, LEATHERS returns with a new single, HIGHRISE; a fantasy involving an illicit encounter with wealth and sexual power in a penthouse high above the city. Her upcoming debut album ULTRAVIOLET promises to catapult LEATHERS to the forefront of smart, exciting, electro-pop.
