Today, Cologne based German-American punk band LAWN CHAIR have shared new single ‘Lover and a Fighter’. The single follows on from their Spring 2023 EP Eat The Beans and Wear The Jeans which received critical acclaim in the UK and Europe alike.

Now they are releasing ‘Lover and a Fighter’, which was created with producer Olaf O.P.A.L. and mixing engineer Chris Coady, with their first ever live session coming in a few weeks time.

With ‘Lover and a Fighter’ LAWN CHAIR pay their respect to the decade of hairspray, neon lights and ‘pathetic’ synthesizers. Inspired by old and new masters like ZZ Top, Kiss or Cobra Man arises a guitar-soaked ode to hedonism that takes everything the 80s had to offer to the extreme, including the flagrant hypersexualisation of everything and everyone.
|
“80s rock was always my personal definition of dad rock. With ‘Lover and a Fighter’ I thought why not try to write a song that doesn’t even try to be cool?” says singer Claudia Schlutius.
|
After their EP generated international attention in the UK through several spins and mentions by BBC Radio 6 (Steve Lamacq, Emily Pilbeam), LAWN CHAIR are heading out on tour in Germany with London based band DEADLETTER as well as their own headline tour this Autumn. Furthermore, LAWN CHAIR are currently working on their debut album and are planning their first shows in the UK to bring their music to a wider audience.
