"THE REFRESHINGLY AGGRESSIVE 'NEWSHOUNDS' IS AN OFF-HILTER AND DIRT-CLAD LUNGE OF AUTHENTIC NOISE THATFEELs URGENT, INSPIRED AND FILTHY." -NOIZZE
Following the releases of their first two singles ‘Newhsounds’ and 'Leeches', Knives will be releasing their debut EP on April 14th. They have received an exceptional reaction with a sold out Bristol Rough Trade headliner that was an energetic night to remember whilst attracting a lot of attention to their campaign. With their pop infused style and idles-esq noise, they have been creating a reputation in the punk and alternative scene playing shows with Life, Soul Glo, James and the Cold Gun, and Ritual Union whilst receiving attention from anyone who hears their mastered EP. After featuring on Discovered Magazine’s Breakthrough Playlist and appearing on Louder than War Radio after the single ‘Newshounds’ was released on February 11th, they are excited to premier the remainder of their EP with their continued dedication to the project. This enthusiasm is led by vocalist Jay Schottlander alongside their saxophonist Maddy Hill, guitar players Josh Cook and Dan Farren with Ben Marshall on bass who are all brought together by drummer Erin Cook. Although they are of course influenced by flagship Bristolian punk band Idles, Knives are delivering a unique and creative approach to the punk scene that achieves an authentic and noisy live atmosphere.

After the EP being in the making for a year and a half before Bob Cooper, the same producer that brought discography from Jools, Citizen and Cassels, mixed the songs intothe precise and noisy pieces they are. The coherence of the EP was also brought by the mastering of Katie Tavini, allowing the band to have a very impressive start for their first releases.
