Titled after the first Yoruba novel ever written, “A Hunter in the forest of a thousand Daemons” as translated by Africa’s first Nobel Laurette Wole Soyinka, GOMID has spent a year redesigning a contemporary sound of seduction whose sex appeal lies in the allure of the ancestral.
Encountering the uncanny scenes of the forest, the listener experiences creatures both good and bad in equal measure. The result is a surreal, sometimes transcendental, often unsettling impetus to dance.
