What is Fast Money Music?
Could be fast? Could be money. Could even be music. Maybe it’s none of the above and everything at the same time. Could be a Suicide song. Or a song from under the floorboards. A naive melody in the style of Melody Nelson. Or maybe, it’s the absence of all those things.
Forged in NY, tempered in LA and debuting in London, FMM molds the nostalgic and familiar into something unique and original.
“This thing has been a really exciting discovery for me… it’s certainly post-punk, hints at new wave, and is really good at painting a picture and causing the chaos in equal measures.” - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1 Future Artists
The debut EP, Strange Moments, produced by Sam Petts-Davies and Mikko Gordon, came out in 2023 to acclaim, receiving accolades from Jack Saunders on BBC Radio1, Steve Lamacq on BBC6 Music, Charlie Ashcroft on Amazing Radio and Simone Butler of Primal Scream on Soho Radio.
In anticipation of a second EP, FMM released “Polar Bear”, a coy rendition of Grauzone’s 1982 classic “Eisbär”. The track was well received, with plays on from John Kennedy on RadioX’s X-Posure Daily and Tara Kumar on BBC Radio 1 Future Artists, as well as Shell Zenner’s Track of the Week at Amazing Radio.
Rouge EP is slated for release in early 2024.
