What up, you weirdo muddafuggas!
For everyone messaging me asking where the hell the trumpet is, and to that one guy who threw a brick through my window with a note attached saying “more trumpet or else”, this new single is for youuuuu!
I teamed up with the weird and wonderful Kassa Overall to bring you a soothing balm letting you know It’s Okay. Kassa absolutely nails the rap (of course) to kick off the track, and drums sublimely (was there ever any doubt). Butttt in the bridge, I’m back on the horn for a delicious little solo for you to chomp on (and also playing a bit of drums, too, in the left ear while Kassa’s in the right).
I’ve been struggling to connect with the trumpet as much recently, it just all feels a bit real yknow, so when I AM playing brass on this album, just know I’m reeeeally feeling summin. (And of course, me on all the other tings and produced and mixed by me and blah blah.)
So for the jazzyhiphop freaks who need a hand on the shoulder and to be told sweetly “it’s okay”, I hope this one helps x
