Dook Walt Jr. is a Chattanooga, Tennessee based synth-pop band, consisting of frontman Jake Brown, drummer John Hooker, guitarist Chris Johnson, bassist Cooper Twit, and keyboard player Jono Kaufman. Their debut album ‘15th Floor’ consists of smooth jazz inspired melodies and euphoric, twinkling synth leads. With a emphasis on emotion, Dook Walt Jr.’s sound is one for the rainy the day, the surf, or the long road trip.
Much has been speculated as to what Dook Walt Jr. is, was, and is yet to be. Once thought to be but a single man, it has been revealed to us that the Dookster is in fact many in concordance. The souls of Jake Brown, Cooper Twit, John Hooker, and Jonathan Kaufmann were all subsumed into the synth-based sanctimony which manifests as Dook Walt Jr. and remain entwined to this day. This super-organism purveys it's signature brand of twinkling twilit synth pop with a knowing dash of absurdist abandon, like Depeche Mode if Depeche Mode had met a a christian college. With the release of their single 'Room' they have broken their streak of streaming silence, broadcasting a message across the 5G enabled urban enclaves for the indie-pop-hipster masses to hear. That message is this: Dook Walt Jr. is Here.
