Lagos-born rapper DEELA turned heads in the music scene with her debut single ‘Intro to DEELA’ on SoundCloud. The fiery track with her fierce bars delivered against a hard bass beat made it excessively clear that she had undeniable talent. Not long after her debut, DEELA released her self-titled debut EP which got recognition from a popular global African music magazine, ‘The NATIVE’, who spotlighted her song ‘The Game’. An honourable mention to fan favourite ‘NOT ME’ where she delivers hot bars on a melodic piano type beat, casually flaunting her versatility. After her EP, DEELA dropped ‘BITCH BOI’. She rapped her clever bars over a police siren beat - the rage-filled song gained a co-sign from Cruel Santino and her signing with distribution label DMY Artists. Not one DEELA song sounds the same, and that’s what her fans love about her. Rapping ‘hard’ is what she loves, but she showed us different with ‘ROLLING STONES’ which she delivers a trap song over a melodic type beat and ‘FIT’ described as a “whispery bad b*tch anthem” by Steffanee Wang at NYLON MAG, which she included on their ‘The 10 Best Music Releases of the Week’. FIT has also retained a permanent spot on Apple Music’s ‘High Maintenance’ playlist, alongside songs by legendary artists like Ciara and Beyonce. DEELA is an undeniably talented, versatile rapper and an artist, it may not be long before we hear more from her as she prepares to drop her mixtape ‘DONE DEEL’. She says to expect nothing but ‘heat’.
