ABOUT THIS BAND

(dame-e-frizz-yuor) Forming at a Bristol club night in 2019 with a collective appreciation for all things shoegaze, DAMEFRISØR brings a sense of sonic-gratitude seen in bands such as The Horrors and My Bloody Valentine, whilst keeping a keen detail on their live show. They are Kazhi Jahfar (Vocals) Nyle Dowd (Drums) Garin Curtis (Guitar) Jamie Brown (Guitar) and Sam Nobbs (Synth). Just as the band were gaining momentum, fans and praise, the pandemic brought the world to a grinding halt. Cancelled shows and postponed studio time allowed the band to take a step back and look for a fresh direction. With the addition of a synth in the mix the music took on a more progressive sound, experimenting more with the tones and techniques. Earlier this year they got back to the basement studio of The Louisiana with producer Will Carkeet (Robbie & Mona, Pet Shimmers) to record their new singles. Since July and the reopening of venues DAMEFRISØR have carried on the trail they left following the pandemic; playing shows in Bristol and London alongside Squid, VLURE, Treeboy & Arc and Legss.
