Caution was formed in 2019 after the dissolution of Nora Button and Cash Langdon’s former band. Having forged a dynamic ability to collaborate, the DC/Baltimore-based duo hoped to continue to develop their songwriting through a new lens. Pulling elements from shoegaze, post punk, indie pop and even country, the Caution sound continued to morph. Caution self released the single “Unsaid/Standing On a Corner of Myself” in October 2019 and then the EP “What You Sell” in April 2020. After Button’s move to Minneapolis, Langdon's move to Birmingham, and the pandemic began, the future of Caution seemed unclear. With a renewed desire to continue to create in tandem, the two began writing and recording long distance. The self titled EP was finished in the fall of 2020 and was released by Chicago-based Born Yesterday Records in February 2021.
