Bonnie Trash is the horrorgaze project of twin sisters Emmalia & Sarafina Bortolon-Vettor, wedding post-punk's steeley-eyed austerity to goth rock's brooding grandeur.
The recent addition of longtime friends Emma Howarth-Withers (bass) and Dana Bellamy (drums) gives the group a new lavish and layered sound.
Bonnie Trash turn cinematic tropes on their head. Rather than fashioning nightmares into reality, the band paints reality as a nightmare, rife with pain, suffering, and gothic theatre.
Their new album 'Mourning You' will be out on February 28, 2025 via Hand Drawn Dracula. ''Veil of Greed'' is the album's first single, out now.
Their 2022 debut album 'Malocchio' and 2023's EP, 'Hail, Hale!' confront the real-life horror stories told to them by their Italian grandmother. Both records were released via Canadian indie label Hand Drawn Dracula, the home of Bonnie Trash's new EP, 'My Love Remains the Same' (2024).
On their self-released 2017 EP 'Ezzelini’s Dead,' the pair reimagined the myth of Ezzelino III da Romano, a 13th-century cannibalistic tyrant from their family's hometown, San Zenone degli Ezzelini.
"Think Sabbath-inspired riffs with droning drums and tones reminiscent of a John Carpenter soundtrack. Halloween OST meets Godspeed! You Black Emperor meets Emma Ruth Rundle." - EXCLAIM!
