London-based, Cork native Balderdasch is carving out a unique niche with her experimental alt-pop sound. With consistent support from BBC Introducing London, and a feature on Rough Trade’s Counter Culture playlist, her upcoming debut EP 'Control the Ending' promises a captivating blend of electric guitar, off-kilter samples, and intricate lyricism. The EP is set to arrive September 18th and was co-produced by saxophonist Pete Wareham. Like contemporaries such as Jockstrap and Sorry, Balderdasch's live performances defies easy comparison. Her immersive live sets often see her smacking hotel bells and singing three-part harmonies alongside her 'women in STEM’. A recent performance at Left of the Dial festival in Rotterdam earned high praise, with Belgian reviewer, Luminous Dash, calling her set “avant-garde reimagined.” With her inclusion as one of the 50 showcasing acts at Ireland Music Week in Dublin this October, Balderdasch is poised to make a significant impact. The announcement comes as she also gears up for her debut EP tour in October, covering cities including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, and London
