Inspired by the vast Midwestern terrain that informs their lives, the underground shoegaze group she’s green steeps textured alt-rock sounds in dream-pop tenderness. The combination makes for balanced songs that feel like a rebirth. Off the heels of their 2023 EP Wisteria, they’re back with single “graze”, a soft ballad that cascades into yearning shriek.

The song begins with layered guitar chords spilling out into a sea of reverb, like wild stars blinking in an open universe. Vocalist Zofia Smith's contemplative vocals float atop the score, and a slow drive into a dreamscape of fuzzy guitars and layered vocals begins. The sound grows gradually throughout, encompassing the listener in an ethereal haze. Starting as a soft embrace of Midwestern slowcore, “graze” explodes into hard shoegaze halfway through, making for a satisfying contrast of sound. “[It’s] about feeling trapped in a distant memory and longing to find a way out,” she’s green says about “graze”. “The only way to escape seems to be facing it head-on and finally getting the release you need.”
After coming together for the first time in Minneapolis in 2022, she’s green quickly amassed a cult following. The hype makes sense.
