“dark yet always wildly entertaining” Louder Than War
“pyncher’s live set is 40 minutes of bangers” Emily Pilbeam, BBC Radio 6Music
“The band are relentless, their new, synthy material is top-drawer, and they show all the signs of a band primed for the big time… pyncher are on the rise, and soon enough , it will be impossible to see them in rooms so intimate.” Indie Is Not A Genre
Following sold-out headlines in London and Manchester, and a spate of live shows pencilled for the spring, Manchester indie-rock quartet pyncher share the oddball garage of new single ‘Space Rocket Simulator’ - out today (8th April).
Revelling in the instant gratification of a delicious garage-rock riff whilst flexing their flair for the strange and beautifully bizarre, ‘Space Rocket Simulator’’s side-stepping, genre-hopping voyage arrives hot on the heels of ‘debut single’ ‘Get Along, which saw the band playlisted on Radio X X-Posure, earn BBC Radio 6Music airplay from New Music Fix, Amy Lamé and Emily Pilbeam (BBC Introducing Mixtape) and win early press backing from the likes of DIY, Rough Trade and Louder Than War.
Discussing more on the track, guitarist/lead vocalist Sam Blakeley says: ‘Space Rocket Simulator explores the push and pull between freedom and connection, the tension between escaping one's inner turmoil and yearning for emotional intimacy. The lyrics “If you want to see a window, just take a look outside” are a playful yet poignant invitation into a space where external exploration mirrors internal growth.”
Having previously shared stages with the likes of English Teacher, Maruja and Been Stellar, today’s news continues a breakneck return for the band in 2025; their busy live schedule continues into the coming months, boasting supports for Delights and Hallan, a slot at Brighton Psych Fest, and their biggest headline to date at YES Basement in May which sold 75% of tickets within days of its announcement
