Uppo

UPPO /ùp-po/ are born in Brianza area, Northern Italy at the beginning of 2023. With influences firmly rooted in punk, and previous experience in bands such as Seventy Times Seven, Upward and Gecofish, the band emerges with its own unique and recognisable sound, characterised by a mix of post-punk, hardcore and new wave elements. The line-up, consisting of Uippo, Fox and Simo, is characterised by the use of deep, distorted synth vocals, two basses, guitar and rhythmic backing tracks made with a drum machine.

The result is a sound that mixes obscure melodies and driving rhythms. On top of it, seven overlapping guitar tracks weave together, creating a melancholic atmosphere, punctuated by thoughtful and engaging lyrics that address existential issues and prompt the listener to question his or her own deepest sides.
