"unbosco" is a project born from the collaboration of five (now four) 20-ish guys based in Bologna, sharing a passion for art. All the members have diverse backgrounds, not only in music but also in various disciplines such as cinema, theater, photography/video, and graphic design. The band's goal is to merge these passions through a musical project. Our approach is entirely DIY, striving to create music that communicates their feelings and observations. Their creative process aims to establish an atmosphere of playfulness and freedom. Singing in Italian, we blend their foreign musical influences with their own cultural identity. Primary musical influences span from the '90s with bands like Sonic Youth, Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine, and Radiohead, to the early 2000s with The Strokes and The Libertines, and extending to the contemporary scene with Fontaines DC, Bar Italia, King Krule, etc. Drawing inspiration from artists who follow the legacy of groups like Joy Division, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and The Velvet Underground, we seek to combine simplicity and minimalism with catchy melodies and sounds. Our perspective, inevitably shaped by the Generation Z ethos, aims to draw from and refresh the sounds that inspire them. The result is a product intended to speak to the younger generation but can be appreciated and understood by older listeners as well.
“Scappi ma non sai” conveys a sense of fleeing from something that causes discomfort, a painful experience. The steps are not controlled and rhythmic but dragged and feeble, creating an atmosphere of incessant running. The main inspiration comes from ’90s alt rock and shoegaze, reinterpreted by a contemporary band in 2024.
