Hailing from Aarhus, Denmark, the explosive, close-knit four-piece have created a sound as intense as a musical freight train, that slowly but steady will run over the listener. The songwriting is honest and direct while the noisy yet catchy songs are wrapped in aggressive distortion and relentless drums! ‘Medival’ is the lead single from their sophomore album, ‘Their Best Work So Far’, out later this year. The song sets a new tone, as a departure from the bands’ slowcore sounds, that makes space for more up-tempo guitar riffs, a solid bass and pushing beats. About the song, lead singer Anders Ahle says: “’Medieval’ is about the way you compare your own life to others and weighing them against each other to see who’s living the best life. It’s not something you do consciously, but as you’re constantly presented with other people's personal successes it’s hard not to do so. You are blinded by it and you forget what’s really important and meaningful and instead you focus on achieving something greater or equal to what you see from others.” The song is an urge to take a halt and enjoy where you’re at and not always have your eyes on the future. This is also reflected in the music video. A simple visual, with the sole purpose of portraying a bandmembers as they truly are - a group of friends enjoying themselves and having a good time. And that is a great accomplishment itself. ‘Medieval’ was recorded at the legendary Silence Studio in Sweden - an old, refurbished two-storey school house hidden in the woods of small-town, Koppom. It was the perfect, remote space for Trader to escape real-life and for seven days, they burst all of their energy into the making of new music! ‘Their Best Work So Far’ is recorded and produced by Thor Andersen. The album will be released later this year by the Copenhagen-based independent label, Part Time Records.
