March 19 - Manchester business-chic duo Super Market drop their latest product via cult label Heist or Hit in the form of new single ‘Cereal’.
Indebted to dance-punk and running late to work, Super Market present the newest new-wave to wake up and get ready to.
“Get Up and Get Down with Cereal!
Clinically proven to get you out of bed, this song is three times more effective and ten times groovier than a traditional alarm clock.
Specially formulated to give you all the energy you need to make it to your 20-minute lunch break, Cereal will fuel you to lower costs and higher profit margins - all without missing a beat.
Every day starts at the beginning, so make sure you put your best foot forward; then your slightly worse foot; and repeat thusly until you get to work on time.”
Josh Super and Jack Market met via a chance encounter at one of the biggest business conferences in the North-West: “if we didn’t capitalise it would simply be bad business”. Subsequently, a new pop-consultancy was registered with the relevant tax authorities - and the start-up began looking for aural investors.
The duo’s produce falls somewhere between The Dare, A Tribe Called Quest and Confidence Man - also taking cues from the deadpan, nonchalant delivery of Welly and LCD Soundsystem.
The office-core aesthetic stems from business school first principles - get noticed. Already catching attention around Manchester, they’ve been stopped in the streets on numerous occasions, recognised for their iconic ties and Brit-pop haircuts. Now that’s what I call guerilla marketing.
‘Cereal’ by Super Market is out now (March 19) via Heist or Hit.
