London, UK - 28th January 2022 - Skinny Lister’s electric guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Sam Brace drops second single, Brave from his forthcoming solo album, today. Brave is a more upbeat track than debut single Panic and kicks off with a riff that wouldn’t be out of place on a Cure song, the track builds to a giant instrumental section and features epic sing-along choruses that will blow any trace of January blues to smithereens. The track also features long-time collaborator and bandmate, Thom Mills on drums who just released Reset My Password with Brighton Post Punkers, Public Body.
“Brave has a few themes running through it but mostly it's about the questions we should ask ourselves before trying to bring about change in another person's life.” commented Brace. “It’s a more upbeat and uplifting track than the first single, but it retains the epic production which you’ll also hear across the rest of the album when it drops later in 2022”.
After spending most of the last 10 years on the road playing major festivals, headline world tours, as well as supporting the likes of Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and Chuck Ragan with Skinny Lister, Brace was ready for a break, and as Covid struck in early 2020, he was able to finally start work on writing a solo record.
Brace continued: “The songs have all been written and recorded by myself with my old mate co-writer, Adam Tarry who I used to be in bands with at school back in the day, at the start of lockdown one quite out of the blue, he sent over a video of him playing a Longpigs track and we got to talking about doing some originals together, he sent me a very basic verse and chorus which, over the course of the next couple of weeks, I turned into a fully formed, Panic. We’ve continued to work together and now have 11 tracks finished and ready to release later in 2022.”
