REBEBE RELEASES DEBUT EP ‘WHAT ARE YOU INTO’

With an otherworldly voice and unfiltered lyrics, 20-year-old Rebebe arrives as one to watch on the blooming alt-pop scene. Her debut EP drops today.

From the moment you see with the artwork of the EP, it is clear, that this is an artist who demands your attention. A simple drawing of a self-stimulating character with a soft and comforting yellow background - drawn by Rebebe herself.

And if the cover doesn’t capture your attention her voice will from the very first note. Rebebe has a voice so full of presence and unexpected intonations, constantly shifting between divine confidence and frantic vibrato. It might sound schizo but Rebebe is a without a doubt a singular artist with a multifaceted mind.

It is music and lyrics without a filter, censorship or other algorithm-friendly limitations because ‘What Are You Into’ is about immediate feelings. Feelings, of both melancholia on one side and criticism of our vain nature on the other - feelings which deserve to be sung exactly as they are felt and written.

On the captivating EP-closer ‘Want Out’ Rebebe says: “The song is partially about being disgusted of your body and the revulsion of your own thoughts about your sexuality and fertility”.

The title of the EP comes without a question mark which makes you think if this creation is delivered with such a confidence that the title ‘What Are You Into’ does not apply as a question but more as a statement.

‘What Are You Into’ is written by Rebebe and produced by Villads Øster known from the indie-popband, Liss.
