[ he/him ]
city: BerlinPercussionist, producer, DJ, radio host, music journalist, and great human being Niklas Wandt has been active in music since 2008 and now makes his first appearance on Inner Shah Recordings with his "Slonkers" EP.
The Berlin-based artist's touch is hypnotic and heavily percussive, with styles ranging from tripped-out downtempo and an afro-funky cosmic sound to driving progressive house, trance, warped techno, and warming tech house — think of high energy in a smooth, long blend.
With "Slonkers" and "Azimuth" he presents two synth-based dreamy tracks with distinctive approaches: the first being a 138 hypnotic Kraftwerk-ish trip, while the second is a 15/4 cover of the track "Azimuth" by the band with the same name (the one from London, not Rio).
Niklas Wandt has been leaving a memorable trace in music with impactful releases with the likes of Sascha Funke and Wolf Müller or with his band, Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge, having summed releases on imprints like Bureau B, Permanent Vacation, Animals Dancing, Warning, R.A.N.D. Musik and Edizioni Mondo.
Enter his world as our jack-of-all-trades makes his debut with Inner Shah, and stay tuned for the forthcoming remix of "Slonkers" by UK-legend Man Power.
