Just as reportedly “the wettest summer on record” kicks in, the Manchester based trio announce a collaborative remix EP which has a primitive focus on the North’s bustling alternative-electronic scene. Featuring the likes of rising Leeds bands such as Honesty and AdultDVD, Manchester club heroes Levi Love and Metrodome as-well as launching their own side-project Cloud97.
Remixed Vol. 1 follows a series of four single releases via So Young Records and most recently the house-infused single ‘Average Boy’, which arrived in late February this year. All four singles have received praise and support from the likes of BBC Radio 6’s Steve Lamac, RadioX’s John Kennedy as well as a wide array of physical and digital press on both sides of the Atlantic.
Expanding further on the project, Nightbus’ Zac Melrose says;
“The idea of others remixing our songs was an idea that was at the fore-front of our plans since pretty much day one. Handing over the reins to allow others to re-imagine our songs seems fitting given the themes that our songs hold as well as the ever-present electronic backbone of the material.
Something that has always been important to us, is how others connect and interpret our music. This EP provides some of those answers, the end result is a contrasting and varied collection of remixes that are fitting for different head spaces and scenes a-like”
Continuing further, collectively the band states that;
“This project will lead our followers in the direction to a world where sonically our next material will exist in. There’s been various labels used when describing us. They’ve been far from negative but now is the time for us to drop certain labels/comparisons and begin our next chapter”
