ABOUT MY FAT PONY:
Made up of vocalist/guitarist Felix Knox, trumpeter Kate Walker, bassist Scott Kibblewhite and drummer Max Silvey, the band share their latest single after a warm response to their debut offerings. Taking influence from the likes of Guided By Voices, Neutral Milk Hotel and The Go! Team, My Fat Pony weave melodic guitar, bouncing trumpet, intricate bass, and relentless drums – all backing witty, culturally referential lyricism.
After gaining momentum headlining shows around the country, supporting the likes of Do Nothing, Personal Trainer and Keg, as well as being longlisted for the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, My Fat Pony are set to release their debut EP later in 2023 following Pick It Back Up, Students, Gary and debut John Woo.
Select praise for My Fat Pony:
“There’s been a lot of talk about the indie of the 2000s remerging in contemporary music as of late, and if this prospect is to materialise, I’d wager that My Fat Pony will be at the vanguard, leading the charge. There’s a lot to love about the four-piece.” – Far Out Magazine
"I love that. That's like a mixture between The June Brides, Blur and Werewolves of London and that's bound to be a top ten hit you know... Nah, it's not going to be top ten but wouldn't it be great to live in a world where that would be top ten!" - Mickey Bradley, BBC Radio Ulster
John Woo their first of many singles planned for this year is full of toe-tapping, head nodding grooves and this effortless display will make this track whizz around your head at a canter. - Music Is My Radar
