“a band of genius weirdos doing really exceptional things…They continuously astound me with how instantly accessible yet freakish and jarring their music can be.” Dana Margolin (Porridge Radio), in Brooklyn Vegan
“Nothing short of fabulous” Marc Riley (BBC Radio 6 Music)
Founded by Fat Dog Saxophonist Morgan Wallace, London’s Morgan Noise weave together unexpected rhythms, wonky synths and askew structures to conjure a perfect chaos.
Debuting last year on the annual tastemaking Slow Dance compilation, “widely known as a celebration and predictor of the best new alternative music” (So Young Magazine), Morgan Noise return with new single ‘I Put Everything’ released on 1st October via Slow Dance Records’ imprint MOTR.
Produced/Mixed by Joel Burton (Naima Bock, Aga Ujma), the track encapsulates the group’s innovative fusion of jazz and experimental, electronic-leaning rock; equal parts bewildering and captivating and constantly shifting the sands beneath your feet.
Offering more on the track, Morgan herself says: “‘I put everything’ is about looking for something very hard, yet you don’t fully understand what that thing is. ‘No matter if it’s all made of cardboard, the silhouette looks the same from far away’ is imagining a city skyline where everything is a cardboard cut out. It looks like sky scrapers and real buildings when you’re not up close to it, and in the dark when you can only see the silhouette you may think it’s real and you’ve arrived at the real place.”
Featuring at Green Man Festival last summer, Morgan Noise are a regular fixture at the Brixton Windmill, playing shows with the likes of PVA, O. Automotion and Ebbb. Supporting Fat Dog for their Brixton Electric headline in the spring, the band have also toured the UKwith Porridge Radio, being publicly celebrated by frontwoman Dana Margolin in Brooklyn Vegan. With early support from So Young and Still Listening, Morgan Noise have won multiple airplays on BBC Radio 6Music; playing a live session for Riley & Coe last autumn, latest single 'I Put Everything' was premiered by Steve Lamacq.
