Rapidly rising on the indie scene, LUNARCA made their debut festival appearance at this
year’s Leeds Festival on the Alternative Stage, just 5 months after their first gig. With a large
fanbase of more than 10,000 followers and 7 million views on their TikTok and Instagram, the
band are set to release their second single ‘Runaway’ on the 23rd of September.
Their debut single ‘Living As Me’ amassed over 8,000 streams on Spotify alone within its first
month, as well as being featured in ThisFeelings ‘Best New Bands’ playlist. The track was also
included in various articles such as DeadGoodMusic, AwaydayRadio, BOOT music as well as
being aired on BBC Radio Sheffield multiple times.
With an even bigger sound, their next single ‘Runaway’ is the pure essence of Rock’n’Roll with
an almost punk / grunge aspect to it (which builds throughout the song). Their inspiration of
60s rock is very noticeable, with Beatlesque harmonies and psychedelic guitar riffs, the track
has it all to offer. Recorded at the infamous ‘Yellow Arch Studios’ in Sheffield with mercury
nominated producer Colin Elliot, the track showcases what the four lads are capable of.
Described by AwayDayRadio as “a sixties rhythm and blues odyssey brought forward into the
21st century”. The band consist of four members: front man Connor Berry, lead guitarist Elliot
Britton, bassist Jasper Elliot and drummer Tom Stafford. Much more is to come for Steel City
band.
