After two successful EPs, several tours (including with Arlo Parks) and festival appearances and millions of streams, the time has come: on September 16, Joesef will release the new single "Joe" and announce his long-awaited debut album "Permanent Damage" for January 13, 2023. The album title "Permanent Damage" refers to the permanence of heartbreak - the idea came when Joesef saw those very words on a cigarette pack.
The big announcement is accompanied by a video for "Joe" - it's a gorgeous, cinematic visual aesthetically reminiscent of the works of Wong Kar-Wai. It presents the idea of being stuck alone in a place where you once shared memories and moments with someone - and how that circumstance makes it almost impossible to cope with the end of a relationship. Emotionally, things have changed - but physically, you're still in the same place. "Joe" is a very personal and important track that highlights Joesef's ability to write soulful and uncompromisingly honest songs about heartbreak that evoke a sense of nostalgia and create a soundtrack for moments of intimacy.
